“We started very well, the first 15 minutes were very important for us and we scored a goal. Then started the battle and Villa were better in the battle than us.
“There were two moments. One was the penalty and the other was two goals in five minutes. We showed good character until the end and we made some good chances. Hernán scored another very good goal.”
Mario Melchiot gave away a stupid penalty, which Vassell converted for Villa's equaliser.
“That happened and we can’t change that.
“I changed eight players, fresh. We started well but the opponent was better than us. If the opponent is better than you, you lose.”
“I’m used to criticising. Maybe they [the critics] were right at the beginning. Now, when you change, change, change, make a rotation, they [the players] are used to playing together. Villa only changed one, I thought we could run more than them.”
“Our focus is on the League. Second in the League is still an achievement for Chelsea.”
