Mourinho's Rants: Blackburn (h)

Eidur Gudjohnsen helped himself to his first career hat trick and Damien Duff added one for luck against his former side.

A 4-0 win and our first win over Blackburn at the Bridge for while!

Mourinho was head to head with Chelsea legend Mark Hughes and came out on top with Blackburn offering nothing going forward.

“The best way to start a game is to score on your first chance.

“In fact, we played fantastic football and just in the beginning a great shot by Lampard, Friedel no chance and the defender took the ball over the line. Normally when you play football with some balance and some quality and you pass the ball, it’s just a question of waiting for the right chance to score your first goal.

“We played good attacking football, especially after the first goal. One of our strikers scored a hat-trick which is very important for his confidence.”

Jose was also hopeful that Mateja Kezman would soon break his Chelsea duck, especially after the exciting introduction and cameo from Arjen Robben.

“To be without this talent for three months was hard for us,” stated Mourinho, who must be hopeful that the Dutchman will rekindle the prolific PSV partnership he shared with Mateja Kezman.

“I think also the crowd enjoyed it and their support to Kezman was fantastic and important, and a bit of a smell of Robben was also important for them.

“Kezman played well and showed some improvement, more happiness in his game and some great movements,” continued Mourinho.

“He hit the post but the way he attacked the space and beat the defender was great.

Both should get a run out against West Ham in Wednesday's Carling Cup clash. Maybe Kezman will bag a goal against the hammers!
