Asmir Begovic will face Manchester City on Sunday after Chelsea lost their appeal of the sending-off of goalkeeper Thibaut Courtois fo.lowing Saturday's 2-2 draw with Swansea City.
Courtois hacked down Bafe Gomis just inside his pwnalty area, resulting in referee Michael Oliver red-carding the stopper and awarding a penalty which Gomis scored from.
Chelsea had hoped that their appeal, based in the direction of the ball, going away from goal, and the covering position of Gary Cahill mexited an appeal.
But the FA dismissed the appeal cited that they did not feel "the referee made an obvious error."
