Bogarde revealed: "It's a real test of character having to train with the reserves and youth team every day of the week, but by now I'm pretty used to it. I have no real contact with the rest of the first-team squad in terms of playing football and that is very difficult to take.
"Despite the frustration I am hopeful that developments will occur this summer. It looks like nothing is going to change this season now, but maybe I'll move on then. As it stands I've got another two years left on my contract but I really can't imagine staying here that long.
"I had some good times in Spain with Barcelona where I really enjoyed my football. Spain still has the greatest league in the world and is easily better than the Italian and German leagues".
It appears to be a strange decision by Ranieri to ignore Bogarde given the club's current centre-back crisis. It appears that John Terry is certain to miss the match against Charlton on Saturday, whilst Marcel Desailly is facing a race against time to recover from injury for the same match. William Gallas has also been struggling with injury lately and if all three fail to recover it would leave Chelsea in a similar situation to the second half against Preston, when they had no specialised centre backs on the pitch. In that match Chelsea scraped through with Petit and Stanic taking up the roles, so Blues fans will have their fingers crossed that at least one of the defenders can recover in time.
