A Chelsea statement read: "Bolo Zenden has finally agreed a contract with Middlesbrough where he was on loan last season. He played 59 matches for us, starting 30 and being a substitute in 29, and scoring four goals, most memorably on his debut against Newcastle and a half-volley against Manchester United. He arrived in 2001 for £7.5m from Barcelona."
