Bolton Wanderers made a double swoop for Liverpool striker David Ngog and Chelsea winger Gael Kakuta on transfer deadline day on Wednesday.
Ngog, 22, signed a three-year contract with the Premier League club and is reported to have cost Owen Coyle's side around £4 million, while Kakuta, 20, joined Wanderers on loan until January 1.
Ngog struggled to make an impact with Liverpool following his arrival at Anfield from Paris Saint-Germain in 2008.
But Coyle has been tracking the Frenchman for some time and he said: "David will be a great addition to our squad. He is quick, can score goals and he knows what the Premier League is all about.
"Added to that there is his European experience with Liverpool in the Champions and Europa Leagues. We are delighted to bring another quality, young prospect to Bolton."
French attacking midfielder Kakuta follows in the footsteps of Chelsea striker Daniel Sturridge, who left Stamford Bridge for a successful loan spell at the Reebok Stadium last season.
Kakuta also spent part of last season on loan at Fulham, making seven appearances.
