Callum Hudson-Odoi has admitted that he was scared by the Achilles tendon injury that he picked up at the back end of last season.
The Chelsea winger had his development interrupted after initially rupturing his Achilles in April 2019, sidelining him for several months.
Hudson-Odoi then missed 14 games down the stretch of the 2021/22 campaign after experiencing discomfort in his legs prior to a training session, and has revealed he is focused on coming back stronger after another major injury concern.
"I’ve been injured for the last four months near the end of the season. So it’s definitely important for myself to get back fit, making myself stronger and faster," he said.
"[The injury] was definitely scary. When it happened it was like a freak injury. It was weird. I didn’t know how it even came about.

"It was just one day I went to go training and I felt very stiff in my body and my legs. I was like 'whoa, there’s no real power to kick the ball or strike the ball or even pass it'.
"It was definitely a weird one but I was working hard to get myself back into training, back into games. I definitely feel like my power has come back to where it was."
Hudson-Odoi has made 120 appearances for Chelsea so far in his young career but has yet to hit the heights of his breakout 2018/19 season where he was an integral part of their Europa League-winning side.
