Carlo Ancelotti believes that the experience of last season will stand them in good stead as they attempt to win back-to back league titles.
Having hammered WBA 6-0 on Saturday, Ancelotti admitted: “We started last season really well.
“That was the key to winning the title – we want to do that again,” said the Italian.
With fixtures against Wigan, Stoke City, West Ham and Blackpool coming up, Chelsea has the perfect opportunity repeat the start that led them to become double winners.
“It’s good that we win the next fixtures,” added Ancelotti.
“But they will be difficult games. We need to stay focussed.”
The rout of newly-promoted WBA came on the back of four pre-season defeats in a row.
“This win against WBA was the perfect tonic to our pre-season.”
Asked if he has the best squad in the league, Ancelotti said: "I’m sure that we have a fantastic squad. Our aim is always to do our best.”
