Carlo Ancelotti has confirmed that Eden Hazard is in his plans for the 2022/23 season, despite Real Madrid's continued interest in Kylian Mbappe.
Since his €100m move to Madrid back in 2019, it's fair to say that Hazard hasn't had the best time of it. The Belgian has missed a whopping 65 games through a myriad of injuries and, as such, has struggled to make his mark at the Santiago Bernabeu.
There has been some improvement in Hazard's fortunes so far this season however, and the 31-year-old even scored a dramatic late winner for Real Madrid in the Copa del Rey on Thursday evening.
When asked about Hazard's future ahead of Madrid's La Liga clash with Elche, Ancelotti revealed that the winger is a part of his plans.
"Hazard is in our plans for the next season, I can confirm," he said.
The news comes despite Los Blancos' very obvious interest in Mbappe. The French forward is yet to sign a contract extension at PSG and looks all but set to join Real Madrid in the summer.
Along with Mbappe, Erling Haaland could also be making his way to Madrid. The club are - according to Marca - preparing a €350m (£292m) package to sign the Norwegian in the summer. This figure consists of the player's €75m release clause, his wages over a long-term contract, as well as a fee for the services of the player's agent Mino Raiola.
