Chelsea has agreed an £11million transfer of Petr Cech to Arsenal.
The 33-year-old will end his 11-year tenure at Stamford Bridge on July 1, the day after his contract with the Blues expires.
Personal terms had already been agreed by Arsenal and Cech - all that remained was setting a fee between the clubs, that was sorted out late this afternoon.
Arsenal are expected to annouce the deal on Friday. Expect the Blues to do the same on Tuesday.
It's brilliant piece of business by Chelsea and a £5million profit on the player they bought from French side Rennes in 2004.
Cech will go down in the annals of Chelsea history as one of the greats, second only to Peter Bonetti in many Chelsea fans' eyes.
The Czech Republic No1 won every domestic titie while at SW6 as well as a Chanpions League and Europa Cup.
But the March of time stands still for no player and last season he played second fiddle to Belgium Thibaut Courtois.
That arrangement was never going to play out for another season and the parting of the ways and a few million quid in the Chelsea coffers seemed the best solution for all.
Chelsea would have preferred him to have gone out of the Premier League but They could not go against the promise given to Cech by Roman Abramovich who told Cech, he could as result of his impeccable professionalism and service to the club, go to whichever club he decided on.
Arsenal are a lot stronger as a result of this transfer. Chelsea will peruse QPR's Robert Green as a replacement for Cech, but while he still remains part of England's first team squad, it could be tough to pruse him away from regular first-team club action.
