John Terry's strike and an own goal from Kyle Walker ensured the Blues beat Tottenham 2-0 at Wembley and secured the first major silverware of the season.
Cech, who was picked ahead of regular number one Thibaut Courtois, has now collected 12 trophies at Stamford Bridge, with his first being the League Cup in 2005.
"It's as special as the first one," Cech told Sky Sports.
"Every win of the cup is always special for any player
You always want to win the finals, you never want to lose the finals.
"It's been a while since we won the League Cup and we are delighted that we beat a very good Tottenham side as well."
Chelsea's 2005 triumph prompted a period of dominance during Mourinho's first spell at the club which included winning another League Cup, an FA Cup and two Premier League titles.
The victory over Tottenham was Mourinho's 10th win in 12 major finals and his 21st trophy during 15 years in management.
"How has Mourinho changed? I think he has the same motivation to win trophies," Cech said.
"Hopefully we will add other trophies for him, for us and for the football club this season.
"It's always nice to have the trophy in the middle of the season because it can give you a boost of confidence and motivation.
"You have one under the belt and you can add the others, so lets use it as an advantage for upcoming games."
While Cech adds another trophy to an already sizeable collection, the win gave Cesc Fabregas his first piece of silverware at Stamford Bridge and the Spain midfielder hopes there will be many more to come.
"That's the aim, it's the first of many, hopefully this season - we are still in the race for two big trophies (the Premier League and Champions League) so hopefully we can make it," Fabregas said.
"At the moment I feel very happy
The first trophy available to me as a Chelsea player, we win it, so we couldn't start better than that."
