Chelsea manager Andre Villas-Boas has sent scouts over to Portugal to keep an eye on midfielder Vitor Gomes.
The 23 year old Portugese star has been impressing scouts playing for Rio Ave and can operate as both a defensive midfielder as well as a right back.
According the Daily Mirror, Chelsea have now ordered scouts to watch him regularly before making a decision on whether to bid for him once the transfer window opens again in January.
Gomes is likely to be available for ?5million and Villas-Boas may choose to bring him in to provide competition for Jose Bosingwa, who was sent off during the London Derby with QPR on Sunday.
