Juventus are ready to battle Chelsea for Sao Paulo teen Lucas Piazon - who has been dubbed the 'New Kaka'.
The Blues discovered Piazon, then 15, at a youth tournament in Manchester last year and chief talent spotter Piet de Visser then watched him score a hat trick for Brazil against Bolivia in the South American Under 15 Championship.
He finished the latter tournament as top scorer with 10 goals and went home with a runners'-up medal.
No suitors can take him out of Brazil till he reaches 18 in January 2012, but there is no lack of interest in the blossoming 6ft striker.
Juventus sporting director Giuseppe Marotta confirmed: 'Piazon is a great player, we are following him within the club.
'We certainly like him, but that doesn't mean he is already ours. We will continue to assess him.'
Piazon has been compared to Kaka because he is treading the same path, working his way through the Sao Paulo ranks, but he is an out-and-out striker rather than a playmaker like the Real Madrid man.
In a transitional season stepping up from the Under 15s, he helped Sao Paulo Under 17s finish second in their state championship, scoring six goals.
