Chelsea intend to join the pursuit of soon-to-be free agent Paulo Dybala once the club's protracted takeover has been resolved, 90min understands.
Following months of negotiations, the Argentine rejected Juventus' most recent contract earlier in March and it was confirmed that he would leave in the summer after seven glittering years in Turin.
CEO Maurizio Arrivabene said Juve's decision not to improve their proposal was motivated by the January arrival of Dusan Vlahovic and the Serb's terrific start to life with the Bianconeri.
Dybala's season has been emblematic of his time with the club overall, with the player hampered by niggling injuries but still providing game-changing moments - scoring 13 goals and laying on six more in all competitions to date.
Despite the 28-year-old's fitness issues, a number of leading European sides have been linked with a free transfer, including Juve's Serie A rivals Inter and Atletico Madrid in La Liga.
Sources have told 90min that Chelsea also plan to throw their hat in the ring once a takeover of the club has been completed, with the forward on their list of attacking targets.
The Blues are effectively operating under a transfer embargo after the UK government imposed sanctions on current owner Roman Abramovich following Russia's invasion of Ukraine - a result of his alleged links to Moscow and president Vladimir Putin.
However, plans are still being put in place for the summer transfer window in anticipation of the sanctions being lifted once a takeover is complete, with a lengthy list of bidders now narrowed down to just four and a resolution expected in April.
90min understands contact has been made with Dybala's representatives through intermediaries and Chelsea hope to open discussions with the player once the club's new ownership has been instated.
There could be a number of changes in the attacking department for Chelsea this summer, with Kai Havertz and Mason Mount understood to be the only forward players whose futures are secure at Stamford Bridge.
Timo Werner and Romelu Lukaku have both spoken publicly about their struggles with head coach Thomas Tuchel's system and have attracted interest from Borussia Dortmund and Inter respectively, while the inconsistency of Hakim Ziyech and Christian Pulisic has been a source of frustration for supporters.
