Chelsea are stepping up their bid for a right-back after Roberto Di Matteo draws up a four-man shortlist.
Chelsea have released Jose Bosingwa and put Paulo Ferreira up for sale which means that a right back is a top priority this summer. Di Matteo has four players on his radar for the position: Lukasz Piszczek, Gregory van de Wiel, Mathieu Debuchy and Rafael da Silva.
It's unlikely they will sign United's Rafael but if other bids are knocked back they may attempt a deal with their rivals. Dortmund's right back Piszczek has been top of Di Matteo's list for a while now and after some strong performances in Euro 2012 he is keen to bring him to Stamford bridge.
Di Matteo wants to wrap up a deal for a defender by the end of next week, as he wants to start preparing for the season ahead. It's been rumoured Chelsea have been budgeted around ?15million for the signing.
