Chelsea has agreed terms to bring Barcelona's midfielder Oriol Romeu to Stamford Bridge.
The 19-year-old is in Spain's U- 20 squad which will compete in that aged group's World Cup in Columbia.
Andre Villas-Boas confirmed Chelsea want the defensive player saying: "I don't want to speak too much about him because he is not our player,' Villas-Boas added.
"It is a part of the squad in which we are struggling with numbers because of Michael Essien's injury and Oriol is a player with a bright future. He still has to evolve as a player.
'The Barcelona B team had a magnificent year in the Spanish second division, they finished third. Oriol had an injury during the season but he came back late on and was in time to play for the first team. So he is one of the most promising young players in that position and hopefully we can agree personal terms and hopefully he will pass a medical."
Does this spell the end of Mikel's time at SW6?
It will not go unnoticed with the players but Villas-Boas assured his current players that they will be assessed beforfe any decisions are made over their futures.
Then, out of the Blue in comes Romeu - sunject to agreeing personal terms.
But you have to say moving from Barca's reserve side to Chelsea's first team is a bit of a no-brainer in career terms, let's hope Romeu does not get homesick too soon..
