Chelsea boss Andre-Villas Boas is keen to bring Porto star Alvaro Pereira to Stamford Bridge before the transfer deadline.
The Uruguay international, who can play either at left-back or in midfield, is keen on a move to Stamford Bridge but the two clubs are yet to agree a fee.Pereira has a ?26million release clause in his contract at Porto, but Chelsea are unwilling to match that figure and hope a compromise can be reached before the transfer window closes at 11pm.Pereira's agent, Alejandro Savich, revealed talks between the two clubs are ongoing and hopes an agreement can be reached."I know that the clubs are talking. This is a positive sign. What I know from Chelsea is that they are trying. One can only hope," Savich told Maisfutebol.
"It's a lie to suggest he has ever refused to play for FC Porto or taken some action. You know that Alvaro always gave everything. He's played more than one hundred games. This cannot be questioned."Right now, Alvaro Pereira is waiting while the clubs talk. We have not spoken with Chelsea because I'm not allowed to do so. It is essential Porto and Chelsea reach an agreement first."
