Chelsea have unveiled their new vibrant and bold third kit for the 2021/22 season, designed with the bright lights of Champions League nights in mind.
The Blues have already released their 60s-inspired home kit and their throwback yellow away number for the new campaign, with both strips splitting opinion among the fanbase.
And Chelsea have completed their set of outfits, unveiling their vibrant third kit on Thursday morning. It boasts a bold style with neon flares and a daring crimson colour to accompany the green and black pattern, taking inspiration from Nike's outdoor line ACG (All Conditions Gear).
The jersey has been designed with the bright lights of European football in mind, celebrating the Blues' reign as current holders of the Champions League trophy. The reveal was also made on the day that Chelsea will discover who they face in the European group stages, where they'll be aiming to defend their crown.
The west London club announced the kit in some style, stating that it is 'reflective of a modern era for the club'.
“The green and black has long been associated with statement Nike outerwear pieces, the crimson adds vibrancy and that pop of colour is reflective of the club’s youthful energy," the statement read.
“The ‘Pride of London’ logo is also present on the inside of the jersey, serving as a reminder of the club’s values and status in the capital.
"As Chelsea aim to add further honours to the Champions League title we won last season, the club's 2021/22 third kit is reflective of a modern era for the club, characterised by youthful energy and everything that represents."Like the previously-announced home and away strips, the third kit is made from 100 per cent recycled polyester fabric, using recycled plastic bottles to create the material. The shimmering green and black colours balance wonderfully with the popping crimson to complete an attractive shirt.
Chelsea's third shirt is now available for Nike members to purchase through thebrand's official store. Adult shirt prices begin from £69.95, while children's kits can be picked up for £49.95.
