Fresh pictures of Chelsea's home kit for the 2021/22 season have been leaked and it....certainly looks different.
The west London side are known for their traditional blue kits that usually have an element of white (and occasionally red or yellow) to them, but Nike have taken it a step further with this new design.
In the fifth year of their deal with the mega sports brand, Chelsea will wear a very busy home kit which includes zigzags, checks, and some hi-vis bright yellows trim.
According to the ever reliable Footy Headlines, Chelsea's new kit is officially 'Lyon blue' and will be accompanied by 'opti yellow' trim. 'Lyon blue' is a variation of the traditional royal blue colour and the yellow can be seen on the sides of the shirt, around the Nike logo and club crest. Club sponsor '3' will see their logo remain in white in the centre of the shirt.
The checks and zig-zags make for quite the spectacle when the shirt is on the hanger, but looking at the picture of a fan who managed to spot the shirt early, it doesn't look too bad in reality.
The kit is scheduled to be released in May, just before the current season is called to an end, and it's likely that Chelsea will wear the kit in their final game of the season like they have done in the past.
Chelsea fans aren't particularly happy about the kit judging by reactions online, with one fan even going as far as to say it's 'the worst kit since being born'. Yikes.
The club will be hoping more people like when it's officially released and on sale since it's likely to cost around £70 and Chelsea will be wearing it most weeks for a year. Good luck with that, Blues.
