Christian Pulisic leaves Nike to pen long-term deal with PUMA

Chelsea winger Christian Pulisic has inked a long-term deal to become PUMA's latest global superstar, ending his partnership with American sportswear giant Nike.

After returning to his club from international duty, Pulisic was repeatedly spotted rocking PUMA gear. He was seen wearing some PUMA lifestyle trainers while boarding a plane and has pulled out the Ultra 1.3 boots in both training and pre-season.

We've now had confirmation of Pulisic's now long-term partnership with PUMA as part of a mutual determination to help grow the game of football in America and inspire a new generation of future superstars.

"Anyone who loves soccer, should be able to play," Pulisic said. "We have a platform in sports and if something is truly meaningful, you can really help to open people’s eyes and make changes.

"What I love about PUMA is they share my passion and my goal to support youth soccer in America and to help the next generation to chase their dreams.

“In many ways it was a no-brainer for me to join PUMA. With its world class and innovative products, PUMA embodies the culture of sports on and off the pitch. Their technical innovations revolve around speed, which is one of my biggest weapons. It’s an honour to follow in the PUMA footsteps of some of the greatest players to have ever played the game, Pele, Maradona, and Johan Cruyff."

To celebrate Pulisic's new agreement, PUMA have designed a customised edition of the Ultra 1.3 boots he has been wearing, and they will make their debut in Wednesday's UEFA Super Cup final against Villarreal.
