Following his month at Molineux, Carlton Cole spoke to Chelsea TV to reflect on his Wolverhampton experience and spoke of the progression he has made during his time away.
"I've learned a lot of things like holding up the ball, where to use my weight, and hopefully it will tell in my game when I play for Chelsea," said Cole.
"I thought I'd stay another month but the manager called me back. I was disappointed as I wanted to do more and play more games and the main thing is I wanted to score more goals. But it's good to be back at Chelsea.
"Dave Jones was quality. He said he'd help me as much as possible and to adapt my game. He was very helpful in doing that so I thank him a lot."
Carlton made four influential appearances for Chelsea earlier in the season, scoring crucially in games against Charlton and Gillingham but having made five starts for Wolves, with two substitute appearances, he only managed to score once.
Reflecting on his time at Molineux, he told Chelsea TV: "The pace was fast and furious as everyone was chasing after the ball and the tackles were flying in.
"I'd say the First Division is quicker than the Premiership as you have more time on the ball in the Premiership and players have more respect for you.
"It was a good experience though, to get to know that kind of football, so if I ever play cup games or whatever, I'll know what to do."
Despite his time with a number of influential and experienced players including Denis Irwin and Paul Ince, Cole is adamant that there is only one role model for him - Gianfranco Zola.
"I watch everything he does but it's so hard to do it on the pitch," he observed. "Although I haven't got his talent, I can still take note of his professionalism."
Maybe Cole can come on and turn tomorrow’s game on its head as he did previously against Charlton? He is more than capable!
