The England midfielder has had a chat with his buds at the Evening Standard in an attempt to prick the memory of Jose Mourinho that the former West Ham United starlet is still around.
He told the paper: "I'd love to be involved again and will hopefully be given the chance."
The Champions League and Carling Cup starter wants to add a few Premiership matches to his Chelsea tally.
As if to offset any "end my Chelsea hell" headlines, Cole adds: "The mood is really good in the camp at the moment and I'm happy to be here."
Cole was signed for the Blues by Claudio Ranieri for £6.6m in August 2003.
