Joe Cole scored the goal which defeated dogged Wales and maintains England's progress towards automatic World Cup qualification.

The Chelsea midfielder hit a 53rd minute strike when his shot from Shaun Wright-Phillips' cross was deflected past Danny Coyne by Danny Gabbidon.
