Antonio Conte has won a major battle with the Chelsea hierarchy as the Blues announce that their final pre-season fixture will be in Germny and not, as expected in Russia.

The Blues will instead travel to Bremen to face Bundesliga side Werder Bremen.

The match will take place on August 7 at 2pm - week before the start of the Premier League.

Chelsea were going to face CSKA Moscow that day. And although no official fixture had been announced. Chelsea-Mad were informed by a cLub insider that Moscow was going to be the destination for the final match.

The arrival of Antonio Conte appears to have scuppered that money-making deal.

The long-distance travel situation seems to have been a concern for Conte, and the bird he climbed down and given him a more acceptable alternative.

The Blues head off to the USA after their final match in Austria on Tuesday Where they face RZ Pellets.
