Milan have come out they said they need four top strikers for an assault on the Champions League and Serie A next term, and feel Crespo would fill one of those positions, despite having the likes of Andrei Shevchenko, Jon Dahl Tomasson and Filippo Inzaghi at the club.

Speaking to Gazzetta dello Sport, Crespo said, "If it's true that Chelsea have put me on sale, in this case I can say that Milan are my first choice."

"It would be beautiful going back to work with Ancelotti, my first coach in Italy. I have to thank him because he was patient with me.

"Would there be problems if I'd have other players before me? Absolutely not.

"I'm not a young player and I know the rules of the dressing room.

"I add also that to come to Milan, an extraordinary team, I'm ready to also reduce my wages.

"If it's true that Chelsea don't want me, I must think to my future."
