Barcelona's Dani Alves has heaped praise on Liverpool right-back Trent Alexander-Arnold, admitting he is one of his favourite defenders to watch, while also reserving praise for Reece James and Achraf Hakimi.
The 38-year-old, who returned to Barcelona late last year, is widely regarded as one of the greatest right-backs in history, having won titles all over the globe for both club and country since making his debut back in 2001.
When asked by FourFourTwo to name his favourite modern right-back, Alves did not hesitate to name Alexander-Arnold, who played a crucial role in Liverpool's Premier League and Champions League successes in recent years despite his relative inexperience.
"I admire Trent Alexander-Arnold very much," Alves said. "He’s a fantastic footballer – this guy has got world-class skills."
Alves wasn't done there, however, adding another England right-back who is enjoying a terrific season to date into the mix, as well as a Serie A title winner.
"I also like to watch Reece James and Achraf Hakimi," he continued. "They mix strength with technique and are also great players.
"The three of them obviously have different characteristics and styles, but they all know how to do the job."
Alexander-Arnold has previously confessed that he grew up watching Alves' Barcelona side that also featured the likes of Lionel Messi, Xavi and Andres Iniesta, admitting that he sees similarities between the Blaugrana and Liverpool.
"I would say that my other favourite team is Barcelona," he told GQ. "I feel as though they’ve got kind of the same values and beliefs as Liverpool, they like to bring players through the academy."
