The Blues will face either Aston Villa or Blackburn in the tournament as they face local side Kitchee in their opening game of the competition.
Chelsea have spent the last week in Asia picking up victories against a Malaysia XI and a Thailand All Stars side and Di Matteo insists he is happy with the club's pre-season preparations.
"It's been good. We are progressing slowly in terms of physical condition and playing as well," Di Matteo told Sky Sports News.
"It's been a bit difficult at the beginning with jet-lag, the humidity and heat.
"We have played two games in Asia, one in Kuala Lumpur, one in Bangkok and it will be good to measure ourselves and see what stage we are at against some English teams."
