AC Milan are lining up a move for Didier Drogba in the January transfer window.
The Italian giants are monitoring the Ivory Coast striker's situation at Stamford Bridge, where he is no longer an automatic first-team selection and is out of contract next summer.
If he does not pen a new deal Drogba will be available on a free transfer at the end of the season, but Milan could move in the winter.
The Rossoneri have a three-man shortlist for a new striker, and Drogba is at the head of the pile, which also includes Catania's Maxi Lopez and Roma's Marco Borriello and Drogba could be tempted to leave in search of first-team football.
The 33-year-old's Blues future looks uncertain with ?50million man Fernando Torres and young England hotshot Daniel Sturridge currently manager Andre Villas-Boas's first-choice picks up front, while summer signing Romelu Lukaku has been hailed as Drogba's heir apparent.
And it has been reported that Chelsea are set to offer Drogba only a one-year contract extension, while the player wants a new two-year deal.
Drogba is currently out of action with an arm injury, but has only made seven Chelsea appearances this term, scoring just once.
