But Drogba's agent, Thierno Seydi, met with chief executive Ron Gourlay to thrash out the striker's future.

Seydi insists Drogba, who has a year remaining on his contract, is not looking to leave Stamford Bridge and that he will stay for an eighth season.

'A lot was said over a possible departure of Didier Drogba,' Seydi said. 'That is not the order of the day.

'He stays at this club, which he knows very well.'
