Liverpool forward Diogo Jota is facing a race against time to be fit for next weekend's Carabao Cup final against Chelsea after picking up an ankle injury.
The Portugal international was brought off at half-time of the Reds' 2-0 win over Inter in the Champions League on Wednesday, with Jurgen Klopp downplaying initial fears and insisting it didn't look like a serious injury.
However, the Mirror write that scans have revealed the issue is worse than first feared, ruling Jota out of Liverpool's Premier League clash with Norwich this weekend.
Jota's place in the squad for next Sunday's showpiece event at Wembley is not completely off the table and Liverpool's medical staff are working with the forward on his ankle problem in order to return in time for the final.
After an injury-hit debut campaign at Anfield, Jota has emerged as one of Klopp's most important players, regularly being preferred to Roberto Firmino up top for Liverpool.
Jota has scored 17 goals in 31 games in all competitions for the Reds this season, while only teammate Mohamed Salah has scored more times in the Premier League.
