Cole was the first to sign up, shortly before 8pm yesterday evening. He joins on a four year deal and it would appear as if he is delighted to be coming to Stamford Bridge.
He told Chelsea TV "I used to come to Chelsea to watch, I used to sit in The Shed a lot. I used to love watching good players - I used to love watching Dennis Wise and before that Kerry Dixon. I just love my football."
And Claudio Ranieri purred "Without Gianfranco, I need a player who can dribble - and I think Joe Cole is that kind of player. In my opinion, he can play in any midfield position from the left to the right, or behind the front two.
"He's fantastic one-on-one. He's very clever and passes the ball very well. I like him when a match is close. He can dribble, pass and score a goal. He's strong and an Englishman. "When I arrived, I said I'd like a blend of young English players and experienced players. Slowly, slowly, that way is possible."
Now for the Veron signing. Seba also joins us on a four year deal, for an initial fee of £12.5million. An extra £2.5 million will be due to Man United depending on how successful we are during those four years.
And Seba clearly wants to show what he can do in English football. He told the Sun "Ferguson trusted me when I first arrived. But later on it seemed we didn't understand each other as well. There were times when I felt he preferred some of my team-mates. "I think I'll understand Claudio Ranieri better because of the language. I've nothing to prove to United. When I play against them I will play to win, like I always do. "I can do a job in English football - and in London that will be reaffirmed."
Now onto Trevor Birch. The Chelsea chief executive has had a busy month or so, completing six signings during that time. He said "Today we have bought a young Englishman with huge potential and a great champion who can lead us on to better things. "It has been a marvellous day for Chelsea."
Hasn't it just Trevor....
