Chelsea boss Jose Mourinho had declared that he would only pursue his interest in Drogba if Hernan Crespo wanted to leave Stamford Bridge. Today's developments suggest that Hernan no longer has a future at the Bridge.
Marseille president Christophe Bouchet said: "Negotiations have begun between Chelsea representatives and our general manager Pape Diouf. But we felt their offer of £18m was insufficient and I refused.
