Drogba slays the Wolves

With Manchester United going down 3-1 at Everton in the early-morning kick-off, the Blues moved four points clear at the top of the Premier League with an empahtic 2-0 win away to Wolves.

Didier Drogba the two-goal hero once again.

Chelsea were more focused then ever to extend their lead at the top of the table but they had to do it  without injured or ill players Frank Lampard, Richardo Carvalho, Alex, Ashley Cole - all who would be expected to play.

However, those that played knew they had to deliver the goods.

The first chance of the game came at the 16th minute when Joey Craddock's block denied Didier Drogba a goal-scoring chance.

Wolves defended well until the 40th minute when Yury Zhirkov played a one- two with Michael Ballack. The Russian  slotting the ball across the six-yard box from the left. Up popped  Drogba to tap in from close range.

What a goal. Can Drogba get any better.....?

After half time, Petr Cech was on fire.

And it was his long kick that set up Chelsea's second goal.

Drogba outmuscled the Wolves defender and wrapped up the match with a well taken left footed strike.

Cech's contribution and quality was on display for all to see when he twice denied Adlene Guedioura from scoring.

Overall Chelsea were unconvincing, however the few chances they had, Drogba buried.

It's obvious to all that Chelsea as a team have the skills to win the Premiership even though they are not currently displaying their pedigree.

Despite all the off field dramas, on the field Chelsea remain on the ball and focused on lifting the trophy.

Come on you Blues.
