Duffer was one of our most impressive performers in the early part of last season, until a dislocated shoulder kept him out of action from December until mid January. An achilles injury then halted his progress further, although he did make an impact when he returned.

Unfortunately, he suffered a recurrence of the dislocated shoulder at the end of April and only now is he back to full fitness. However, that has not stopped speculation about his future!

Fortunately, Duffer's agent, Pat Devlin was on hand to clear the whole thing up! He said "Damien is very happy at Chelsea and cannot wait to start the season.

"It's nonsense to suggest he wants to go back to the north-west, there's no way he wants to leave."

He added: "Damien has just recovered from a bad shoulder injury and isn't thinking about anything but playing for Chelsea."

Blues fans will be delighted by that news!
