Eidur: No Intention Of Quitting

Gudjohnsen, 23, has formed an inspired and respected partnership with Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink since joining the club two seasons ago from Bolton for £5m.

Following the speculation concerning Eidur’s supposed recent pay dispute and subsequent threat to leave The Bridge, Peter Harrison (Eidur’s agent) spoke to The Evening Standard stating: "Eidur loves Chelsea and wants to stay. He's very sensible and not the sort of person to say, 'I'm going to walk out if you don't give me this or that.' I'm sure it will be resolved soon.

'There have been inquiries but he's not for sale. I've not tried to talk to other clubs about Eidur. Unless Chelsea tell me different, that won't change.''

While Harrison admitted they were in negotiations with the Premier League club over an improved contract, he rejected suggestions he was asking over the odds.

"I don't think I've made outrageous demands," he added.

"There's been no animosity, no tough words. I'm just trying to get good value for Eidur.

"All I'm trying to do is get him an increase in his salary.

"All clubs offer improved terms to valued players with a few years left on their contract, and Chelsea should do the same."

Having finally seen something positive in the press today, maybe tonight, I might actually get some sleep?
