Chelsea’s Icelandic striker has been continuously linked with a number of clubs (including Manchester United) throughout this and the last transfer window but now he wishes to set things straight and make everyone understand that he wishes to remain Blue.
“I’ve got a contract with Chelsea Football Club and that’s it until the club accepts an offer for me and then I’ll think about it, otherwise I’ll be staying here. And I’m happy to do that.
“It’s been hard not playing regularly after having a good season last year, especially the early part of the season with the injury – it played a lot on my mind. It’s been really hard but you have to try and get your act together and work as hard as you can to get yourself back into it.
“Full credit to Franco Zola because his form is probably the reason why me and Jimmy haven’t been playing together. I think this is maybe our third game in the League that we have actually started together. Everyone knows that I like playing alongside Jimmy but I just like playing.
“When you’re not playing you try to keep a smile on your face but when you’re playing and getting goals, it’s a little bit easier. But I go into training with a smile on my face every day.”
