For a long while, Sven Goran Eriksson has been linked to the Chelsea managers post, not helped by pictures of him visiting Roman Abramovich, soon after the Russian took over at Chelski.
There were also links that Chelsea's spending spree in the summer was controlled by Eriksson, and not by current coach, Claudio Ranieri. These claims have been dismissed by all involved, but are still being talked about. 'Juan' turing point in the whole matter was the signing of Juan Sebastian Veron from Manchester United. It is widely known that Sven is Veron's biggest admirer, and his summer move to Chelsea only added fuel to the fire.
Some believe that this week's merry-go-round with Rio Ferdinand's missed drug test, and subsiquent absense from the England squad to face Turkey, gives Sven Goran Eriksson the perfect excuse and timing to leave the job.
But the ice-cool Swede's representative Athole Still is adamant the freshest rumours of a deal being in place with Chelsea are way off the mark.
"I am Sven's manager and his business dealings are done through me," Still told Sky Sports News.
"I have never dealt with Chelsea Football Club - there is no pre-contract agreement."
