Chelsea have been given a huge boost ahead of tomorrow's West London Fa Cup semi final when Jesper Gronkjaer declared himself fit for the match. Chelsea's probable starting XI will be:
GK-Cudicini
RB-Melchiot
CB-Desailly
CB-Gallas or Terry
LB-Le Saux or Ferrer
RW-Stanic or Zola
CM-Petit
CM-Lampard
LW-Gronkjaer
FW-Hasselbaink
FW-Gudjohnsen
Meanwhile, Gianfranco Zola has spoken out ahead of the match. Having won the cup twice with Chelsea, as much as any other Blues player, Zola is desperate to win the competition again. Having spent the majority of the season on the bench due to the prolific strike pairing of Hasselbaink-Gudjohnsen said, "It has been difficult for me this year and I don't like it but it is just part of the game. It has been unusual for me to be left out. When I signed my contract I knew I would be competing against the younger players but I'm not afraid of fighting for my place in the team and it makes me want to win more.
"I still very much have the hunger and you can ask the manager how I react when I'm not playing. Quite obviously I want to play all the time."
The last time Chelsea made it to this stage Gianluca Vialli was the manager, two years ago. The difference in that team to this one is simply the average age of the squad. This Chelsea has a more youthful look to it and some of the older players, Graeme Le Saux and Marcell Desailly especially, have been inspirational figures for them.
Chelsea go into the match as huge favourites but Zola has warned his team-mates not to take the game lightly: "We cannot underestimate Fulham and the task for Chelsea will not be as easy as you think, especially as they have had six days' rest and we had to play a difficult game in midweek. Maybe it is an advantage that we have won semi finals but it could also provide a big boost for Fulham because I know what it is like to play with great enthusiasm."
