Chelsea boss Frank Lampard has claimed that Christian Pulisic could be the club's future equivalent to Liverpool duo Sadio Mane and Mohamed Salah.
Pulisic has had a mixed debut season in England, often finding himself in and out of the first-team despite arriving from Borussia Dortmund for a transfer fee north of £50m.
But since the Premier League's restart, Pulisic has been firing on all cylinders - scoring in both of Chelsea's games and generally looking full of verve and energy.
The 21-year-old has been tipped for big things, and Lampard - speaking to the media ahead of Chelsea's FA Cup tie with Leicester - has suggested that Pulisic has the ability to match the performances of Mané, Salah and Raheem Sterling - three of the Premier League's best wingers.
“He has the ability to match the Raheem Sterling's, who are now producing numbers from wide areas, and Mo Salah's and Mane’s," Lampard began, in quotes carried by The Sun.
“It’s important he understands what is needed to do that because he certainly has the talent to do that. He needs to try to get to that sort of level."
Pulisic has been limited to just 13 Premier League starts this season, but is Chelsea's club's second top goalscorer - with his seven goals only bested by Tammy Abraham's 13.
Lampard continued by admitting his delight at Pulisic's recent displays, but encouraged his young star to push on and reach for the top.
“I’m delighted to have him at the minute. He works very hard every day and he has to set his sights as high as he possibly can," he continued.
"And if he wants to learn — and he does — he can do that on the training pitch in how he sees the game and when he looks at players around him, who have made that sort of jump.”
With Pedro and Willian both on their way out of Stamford Bridge next season, Pulisic is likely to have a greater role to play next season - despite the imminent arrival of Ajax star Hakim Ziyech.
