William Gallas is, in my opinion, by far the best defender currently playing for Chelsea. Whereas most defenders seem to specialise in a few areas (i.e. quick, or good in the air) William seems to have it all.
But the Frenchman seems to have some sort of problem with commiting himself to the club. Despite Chelsea shelling out over £6 million on him, relanching his career and turning him into a French international in the process, William has constantly made outspoken remarks.
Last summer, he warned Claudio Ranieri that he would quit unless he was played at centre back every game. Then it was revealed that Gallas had a clause in his contract that allowed him to leave for £7.5 million- and he didn't do an awful lot to distance himself from a move from the club.
Now this summer, William reveals that he will seriously consider the various offers that come his way over the summer. He also says that he wants to win things, but whether or not that's at Chelsea all depends on who we sign.
Basically, it would seem that he is trying to worm his way out of the club. I hope I am way off the mark with this, and that it's either comments that have been mis-translated or simply made up by his agent- what I do know is that William had better sort out what he wants to do next season and fast.
All I know is that he had better not sign for Arsenal!
