The Cameroon midfielder has put pen to paper on a five year deal after agreeing personal terms and passing a medical. Chelsea will pay Real Madrid around £7million for his services.

Geremi was officially unveiled on Chelsea TV last night and spoke of his desire to win trophies with Chelsea.

Geremi (full name Geremi Njitap) said "I'm very happy to come and play for one of the bigger teams in the Premier League. I've got a lot of ambition and I would like to win a lot of titles if it's possible - and that's why I've come here.

"Chelsea want to sign big players and that is good for us - when you play with big players it is much easier. They can understand everything. You have to work hard and try to improve every day. Now let's see what will happen."

Chelsea's summer spending currently lies at £13million, although if Damien Duff joins it will shoot up to £30million.
