Robert Green is believed to have turned down the chance to join the Premier League winners, Chelsea-Mad understands.
The QPR goalkeeper, one of the few successes this season at Loftus Road had been earmarked as a replacement for Petr Cech who will leave the Stamford Bridge outfit at the end of June when his contract expires.
But Green, 37 has opted to stay at the relegated west Londoners or if he is sold, plans to go to a club where he will be the number one choice.
At Stamford Bridge, Green would have warmed the bench while watching Thibaut Courtois play. Jose Mourinho would have played him in the Capital One Cup and the early stages of the Champions League group matches.
But that has not proved to be tempering enough and so the Blues will turn their attention to other targets.
The club's hierarchy do not feel that youngster Jamel Blackman is quite ready yet and he may be sent out on loan.
