Gronks Staying Grounded

Gronks had a great game for the Danes, terrorising Ashley Cole throughout the first half. And Wayne Bridge didn't fare much better in the second period, before Gronks' substitution.

Jesper said "It was a major win for Denmark because we are a small country. But we know it was only a friendly and England are going to be one of the favourites next summer.

"Of course we would rather have won in the World Cup. But in a friendly there is not the same nerves involved and not so much is at stake.

"We have not got the same number of players as England do - there are probably between 25 and 60 players in England who could all make it into the squad."

What Jesper doesn't mention is that the Danes, whilst not having strong numbers, do have a decent first team. And they possess a world class striker in Jon Dahl Tomasson. If they play their cards right, the Danes could turn a few heads next summer...
