Robben will be out of action for weeks after breaking bones in his left foot in an ill-tempered Premiership clash against Blackburn Rovers last week.
Chelsea striker Gudjohnsen said yesterday: "The team exists of more players than Arjen. We managed well without him at the start of the season and we will do so again," said Gudjohnsen, 26.
"He's a special player and brings a lot of quality but we have a big squad.
He added: "We will just have to make sure that the players which are fit do their jobs and play to the best of their capabilities.
"It is a blow, obviously, and it is a blow for him as well because it is his second serious injury in his first year for Chelsea.
"He has shown this year what he is capable of and time is on his side.
"He is very young, so there is a lot more to come from him, as there is from the team."
