Guus Hiddink claimed that Chelsea were robbed of their rightful place in the Champions League Final by the worst referee performance he has ever experienced.
In an extraordinary post-match press conference, after seeing his side concede an injury time goal to Barcelona which cancelled out Michael Essien's left foot blaster on nine minutes - a draw which saw the Catalan side progress on the away-goals' rule, Hiddink lambasted the performance of Norwegian referee Tom Henning Ovrebo.
"If there is any justice in football, then Chelsea would be facing Manchester United in the final," said the Dutchman.
"We played a decent game. We should have decided the game by scoring and not have needed the penalties which we should have had anyhow.
"We had two or three open chances to win the game.
"As for the penalty claims, well I don't judge them through coloured glasses. Sometimes you have to give the referee the benefit of the doubt.
But I watched the replay with dry eyes and in the first half Malouda was pulled down in the penalty area. The ref had the perfect view, but then he just waved away the protests. He waved away two more perfect chances to award penalties.
"The first was when Pique used his arm and the second was when Eto'o blocked a shot from Ballack.
"But when the referee waved them away, I can understand that there is no justice in football."
Asked how the players are feeling now, Hiddink reemphasised the point: "All the players feel a sense of injustice. I fully understand how the players are feeling.
Hiddink then questioned UEFA's decision to appoint a ref from Norway.
"In games of this nature what I am sure enough of is that the referee must be of a high standard and to have experience of referring in the highest leagues of England, Spain, Italy and Germany.
