Jose Mourinho is happy to have Henrique Hilario between the sticks to face Barcelona.
Hilario, 30, will make his Chelsea bow if Carlo Cudicini fails to recover from his injury sustained against Reading on Saturday.
With Petr Cech in hospital following his skull operation also sustained in the game, the Blues' Portuguese third- choice goalie will be in the squad anyhow and could very well resume first-team action against the European champions.
Jose said when signing him in the summer: "Hilario is everything we need.
"He is experienced and every week since leaving Porto, he was playing regularly in the top division. He has qualified for the UEFA Cup twice so has European experience.
"I know him and I know he will be a very good player to have in our squad."
John Terry took the goalie's jersey after Cudicini was carried off the pitch in Saturday's 1-0 win, but he will return to the centre of defence on Wednesday evening.
Hilario signed for Chelsea in July 2006 from CD Nacional . He has also played under Jose for Porto.
