Gael Kakuta has finally put open to paper on a four and a half year deal.
AC Milan were hoping that any dissatisfaction, the French kid had at his lack of first-team opporutunites could see him head out of SW6 and to Milan.
The midfielder had understandable second thoughts about renewing his deal, but was convinced by his advisors that Chelsea was the best place for him at this stage of his career.
The 19-year-old has said that he now needs to perform on the pitch when he gets the chance so that he can be more deserving to be in the starting line-up.
He has been involved in most of the Champions League matches this season- starting two.
Chelsea have invested a lot of their international reputation on Kakuta, bearing in mind the controversey surrounding his arrival at Stamford Bridge in 2007 from Lens and being found in 2009 to have being guilty of inducing him to break a contract with the French side.
