Kezza off to Spain

Well the signs are not good are they?

With Mateja Kezman signing this week for Athletico Madrid, Chelsea will be left with just two strikers Eidur Gudjohnsen and Didier Drogba and let's not forget Eidur played many games in midfield last season.

So, for fear of repeating myself, Kenyon and Co had better come up with the goods - and soon.
We now need TWO strikers and a midfielder.

Previous news items reveal players who have turned down money-bags Chelsea.
So it can't be money that has turned them off, it can't be the chance of winning top silverware as Chelsea will be in with a shout for all of them, domestic and European.
So it must be the top management.
I don't put Jose in that category - Kenyon must shoulder the responsibility.
But Kenyon has duel key tasks at Chelsea which contradict each other.
He must first produce a squad capable of winning and driving the business on and he must be prudent with his cash to produce a self-financing business within five years.

So on the one hand Kenyon is approaching clubs and agents but on the other he wants then either cheap or not above their market value.
The trouble with market value is that a player is worth so much to one club, but is worth more if he is linked to Chelsea.
It's that aspect which is driving a wedge between Kenyon getting the players in.
Chelsea are victim's of Abramovich's riches - ironic eh!
