Fran Kirby and Millie Bright stared for the Lionesses tonight as England hammered Bosnia and Herzegovina 4-0 tonight at Walsall FC ground in a World Cup qualifier.
Bright was outstanding in a centre-back partnership with Manchester City’s Steph Houghton while ‘Mini Messi’ Kirby torn the visitors defence apart with clever runs and lightening quick feet.
Her goal, a penalty with seven minutes on the clock, was brilliantly taken, sending the Bosnia goalkeeper Hodzic the wrong way.
Adding that goal with a brace from Houghton and a header from Nikita Parris was sufficient to see off the dour and unimaginative opposition.
That’s two wins out of two for England as they sit second in their group behind Wales who have won their three opening fixtures.
The women are back in action on Tuesday when they face Kazakhstan as they seek qualification to the World Cup in France in 2019.
