Lampard – The Right Attitude For Success

The Blues have lost just twice this season - at home to West Ham and away to Liverpool - and have the best defence in the whole of the top flight, with just 14 goals shipped in 17 games.

Chelsea's current eight-game unbeaten league run has put them in second place and they will become league leaders this weekend if they can win at Middlesbrough.

Lampard is just one of the Stamford Bridge stars who is relishing the current challenge. The 24-year-old has now made over 70 first-team appearances for the club since his £11m move from West Ham in June 2001, and he firmly believes he can taste title glory this season.

He said: "We're all hoping people will keep writing us off and waiting for us to fall.

"Hopefully then we can just keep going like we are - showing the same attitude and will to win because it seems to be suiting us."

"We did it at Everton and we've done it recently. Hopefully people will carry on writing us off and waiting for us to fall and hopefully we will just keep going."

Lampard also revealed how the support of the Chelsea fans inspired him this season.

"The fans have been brilliant with me and they're giving me an extra lift, just like the rest of the team. I can't thank them enough," he told Chelsea TV.

"I'm in good condition now and confident. My dad is always my biggest critic, as well as my biggest fan, and he tells me to sometimes be more positive with the ball and go forward myself.

He added: "I feel I'm playing well. When I get in my stride, it's hard for people to stop me and I think it gives the team that bit of extra drive."
